Getting started
What is Privy?
Privy lets you buy and sell Solana tokens from separate trading wallets instead of your main wallet. You deposit SOL from your wallet, Privy buys the token in a new trading wallet, and when you sell, the SOL proceeds come back to your wallet.
How do I connect my wallet?
Select Connect in the top right and choose a Solana wallet such as Phantom or Solflare. When you first trade, your wallet asks you to sign a message to sign in. Signing in is free and does not move funds. Your session lasts up to 12 hours.
Which blockchain is currently supported?
Only Solana. Buys are funded in SOL, and proceeds are paid in SOL.
How do separate trading wallets work?
Each buy creates a new Solana wallet that holds that position. Privy generates its key, stores it encrypted, and uses it to sign the swap and any later sell. These wallets are managed by Privy, not by your connected wallet. They make your trades less directly visible from your main wallet, but Solana is public and the wallets can still be linked. See the Risk Disclosure.
Trading
How do I buy a token?
On the home page, pick a token, enter a SOL amount and select Review. Check the fee, total deposit and minimum you will receive, then approve the deposit in your wallet. Buys must be at least 0.01 SOL. The request expires after 10 minutes if you do not deposit.
How do I sell a token?
Open Activity, choose a holding and select Sell. Pick an amount, review the expected SOL, and sign the sell-authorization message in your wallet. The proceeds are sent to your connected wallet.
Where are my purchased tokens held?
In the Privy-managed trading wallet created for that buy. Your holdings are listed on the Activity page.
Can I hold multiple tokens?
Yes. Each buy gets its own trading wallet, so you can hold many tokens and several positions in the same token at once.
How do I change slippage?
Open the settings menu in the top navigation and choose a preset or enter a custom tolerance. The default is 15%, which is high: your trade may execute at a much worse price than quoted. Lower settings protect the price but fail more often. Your setting is saved to your account when you are signed in.
Fees
What is the 0.005 SOL fee?
It is Privy's platform fee for each buy. It is added to your trade amount, so a 1 SOL buy requires a 1.005 SOL deposit. The fee is shown before you approve.
What is the 0.03 SOL network-fee reserve?
Privy may advance up to 0.03 SOL of its own funds to the new trading wallet to pay for transaction fees and token-account rent. You are not charged for it, and Privy may recover any unused part.
Are network fees separate?
Yes. Your wallet pays the normal Solana network fee for the deposit transaction you sign. Swap prices also include price impact, and some tokens charge their own transfer fees.
Transactions
Why is my swap pending?
A buy goes through several on-chain steps: your deposit confirms, the trading wallet is funded, then the swap executes. Each step needs Solana confirmations and can take longer when the network is busy. The status updates automatically on the Activity page.
What happens when a swap fails?
Privy retries where it is safe. If the buy cannot complete, it moves to refund processing. Some cases need manual review first, and the trade shows that status in Activity.
How do refunds work?
Recoverable SOL is sent back to your connected wallet in a separate transaction. Activity shows the refund status, the amount and the on-chain signature once it confirms. Network fees already spent on failed attempts may not be recoverable.
Where can I see my transaction history?
On the Activity page. Each buy, sell, refund and payout links to its Solana transaction.
How can I recover or withdraw my tokens?
Sell them through Privy, and the SOL proceeds are paid to your connected wallet. Moving tokens directly out of a trading wallet is not currently supported. If a token cannot be sold, contact us and include the trade details from Activity.
Account
How do I disconnect?
Open the wallet menu in the top right and select Disconnect. This also ends your session. Your holdings stay in their trading wallets and reappear when you reconnect the same wallet.
How does Privy protect generated wallets?
Trading-wallet keys are encrypted at rest with a key stored separately from the database, are only decrypted on Privy's servers to sign trades you authorize, and are never sent to your browser. Every trade requires a signature from your connected wallet. Because Privy manages these keys, you are relying on Privy's security. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I contact support?
Email support@privy.ac, message @PrivyAC on X or visit the Contact page for legal, privacy and security contacts. Never share your recovery phrase. Privy will never ask for it.
